Before we begin our section of Islam, I should emphasize that I have enjoyed plenty of conversations with imams (Muslim leaders) and Muslim friends here on the Western continent. I have often appreciated their maintenance of robes and head-coverings, the kind of Scriptural apparel that those who claim to follow the Turah (Scripture) or New Testament have abandoned. Their dedication to regular offerings of prayer and their refusal to eat meat that is full of blood or slaughtered incorrectly is also admirable. Their observance of the first crescent of each moon cycle (month) is also a true method of the Creator's calendar. They know what reverence is, in that they bow their faces to the ground or kneel... another thing which Jews and Christians have often forgotten to do for the Most High. What is said in this section is not out of hatred or to malign Muslims. It is to simply reveal that the Qur'an is not the religion of the Turah (Scripture).
Islam today is proclaimed as a religion of peace. Muslim "extremism" and "terrorism" is said to be the exception to the rule. It is said that such extremists don't actually read the Qur'an properly or apply it accurately. We acknowledge that numerous Muslims are peaceful. Muhammad, as the inspired prophet of Islam, is clothed in modern evangelism with the robe of Jesus or the character of Gandhi. There are plenty of religions of peace and meditation in our world today, like Hinduism and Buddhism. Being a peaceful religion does not make it right or true. But people today want a peaceful religion and have sometimes converted to Islam and Christianity, thinking that these are religions of peace. If a religion makes you feel like you have butterflies inside, that doesn't make it right. Our basis for belief must be based on something solid and factual. It should be proven through archaeology, history and prophecy. It must be true for all people and not a select few or racially discriminate. YaH and the Turah (Scripture) are for all people.
There are a lot of
terrific books, articles and websites exposing the falsehood of the Qur'an and
Islam, even as there are for the exposure of New Testament blasphemy. For a
list of such books, see the Apostates of
Islam website for example.
It is amazing to see thousands coming out of New Testament belief, Islam and
Orthodox Judaism to simply embrace YaH and follow His Turah (Scripture) alone. There
is truly a great awakening that is taking place.
Nowhere does the Qur'an call the Most High by His Name, YaHUAH. We need not rehash the usage of the Name of YaH on the lips of Abrahaym and throughout the Turah (Scripture). Islam does not acknowledge the Name of YaH. You won't find "haylaluYaH" (praise YaH) in the Qur'an either. Instead, they call their mighty one "Allah," which most believe is equivalent to the same "Al, Al'uah" or "Alahym" we find in Aibreet (Hebrew). There is definitely a lot of credibility to that statement, as we see a strong relationship between Aibreet (Hebrew), the language of Aram (Aramaic) and Arabic. Having said that, there are a lot of sources which make a reasonable case that "Allah" was the false moon mighty one of the tribe of Muhammad. Thus, the "Allah" Muhammad referred to was not simply using the pure and generic "Alah" which we see in Aramaic texts in reference to YaH. This is one of those things like "B'ayl" (Baal), where a pure term which is used as a title or position of authority (Sh'moot (Ex.) 21:22 - "husband") became later associated with false worship. Even still, we need to consider this for a moment. Take for instance that the people of B'bayl (Babylon) worshipped "Shamash," which is one and the same as the word for "sun" in Aibreet (Hebrew), being "sh'mesh." The variances of transliterating this are pretty common. We find numerous archaeological pictures of this false sun worship amongst B'bayl (Babylon). Does that mean that if we say "sh'mesh" (sun) that we are guilty of falsehood? No. And this is not what we are promoting in an honest examination of "Allah" here. But we do need to look at how the tribe of Muhammad worshiped "Allah," as we deal with the origins and falsehood of Islam.
The tribe of Muhammad was called "Quraysh." And the worship of "Allah" was long before Islam came along. Each tribe had their own idols and particular false worship which was centered in various places. Most people don't realize that there were once plenty of "Ka'aba," being square cube tents that they would worship in. Abrahaym (Abraham) is nowhere described as building one of these abominations or worshiping YaH in one of them. The Name of YaH was either not known to Muhammad, or he forgot to mention it in the Qur'an. The tribe of Quraysh, not knowing YaH, were conducting false worship. In doing so, they worshiped "Allah." Now if we give credence to "Allah" being equivalent to "Al'uah" (Aibreet (Hebrew) form), we still have a problem. "Al'uah" is the singular and emphatic form of "Alahym," similar to "Al." It means "Mighty One." It is not the Name of the Most High. This is one significant proof that the Qur'an is altogether different from the Turah (Scripture) and not given by YaH. It doesn't bear the seal of His Name. In Scriptural times, a messenger was known by the seal of the person they represented (B'rasheet (Gen.) 38:18). Same with a scroll that had a seal on it. The Qur'an does not mention the Name of YaH nor bear the seal of His Name.
The Qur'an, like the New Testament, does not have the same
vision that the Turah (Scripture) had. They cannot see that YaH is
going to dwell in a pillar of fire and pillar of cloud once more one day, as in the past (B'medbayr (Num.) 14:14). They cannot envision that the tribe of L'wi (Levi) is the priesthood unto YaH forever, as explained in D'bayrim (Deut.) 18:18-19. YaH is going to dwell with His people once more, and His Tabernacle/Tent in Sh'moot (Exodus) was but a foretaste of what is to come. The
fact that the Qur'an does not envision the future reign of YaH alone in
line with the Turah (Scripture) is a great loss of the Qur'an. That is
the loss of the festivals of the Most High.
The appointed times (mu'aydim) of YaHUAH are vividly illustrated in Wa'y'qora (Lev.) 23. The Qur'an does not celebrate the festivals of the Almighty. Oh sure, they go and look for the first visible crescent at the beginning of each moon cycle. But that is all they receive credit for. They don't observe Paysawkh (Passover). They don't observe Kheg ha'Metsoot (Festival of Unleavened Bread). No, they don't keep Sh'bay'ait (Festival of Sabbaths/Weeks). Do they remember Yoom Taruai'h (Day of Trumpets/Shouting)? How about afflict themselves on Yoom Kapayrim (Day of Covering/Atonement)? No. Islam is out of line with the agricultural and Scriptural feasts of YaHUAH. Instead, they keep a Roman calendar weekly cycle and observe a special time on "Friday" afternoons. They observe a 40-day fast of Ramadan which was not commanded by YaHUAH. They observe a 12 month lunar year which travels throughout the agricultural seasons because they do not align their yearly cycle with the sun's equinoxes and solstices. But of course for them it does not matter because they don't have agricultural harvests commanded by YaH as given in the Turah (Scripture). They may be in tune with the first crescent of each month although they don't observe the New Moon festival. There is no agricultural harvests in festival dates aligned with their moon cycles. Thus they are out of touch with the calendar of YaH, agriculture and its seasons. They are out of sync with the Most High, agriculture and essentially the way of life seen in the Turah (Scripture).
The Qur'an of Islam is the same as the New Testament in a lot of ways. Historically though, at least Islam can prove that Muhammad existed and went to war, raped and pillaged cities. Whereas the New Testament cannot historically prove its claims as to the life and death of Yeshua/Jesus. The Qur'an, like the New Testament, claims the Turah (Scripture) as its predecessor and foundation. Yet the Qur'an is contradictory to it, in the same way that the New Testament is. Both cannot accurately quote from the Turah (Scripture) or relate the events of it as stated in the original Aibreet (Heb.) and context. According to Islam, it is believed that Y'sh'mai'Al (Ishmael) was the chosen one of Abrahaym, offered in symbol on an altar... not Y'tsakheq (Isaac). They believe this, amongst other things which are directly contradictory to Scripture.
Did you know that Islam believes in the New Testament also? It has some interesting spins on it! As stated before, it is not only the Qur'an that must be addressed when you examine Islam. It is the Hadith as well, which are the actual teachings, oral traditions and wisdom of Muhammad. Kind of like Judaism and their oral commentaries and traditions. Interesting how these false religions are so similar. The following is a clear statement of belief in the second coming of Isa (Jesus). He comes to kill and "fight the people for the cause of Islam!" "(1) Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (peace be upon him). He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognize him: A man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him. (Book #37, Hadith #4310)."[3] Muslims do not believe Isa (Jesus) died during his life in the first century of our Common Era. "(9) And because of their saying (in boast), "we killed Messiah 'Îsa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah," - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but it appeared so to them [the resemblance of 'Îsa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)], and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. 'Îsa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) عليهما السلام]: ( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #157)."[4] They believe he was spared from death and taken away by the Most High. He comes back, fights for Islam and THEN he dies. "Muslims will pray over him."
Ultimately, it is the above information, along with the contradictions of the Qur'an which form the greatest case against Islam. The simple fact that the Qur'an believes in the New Testament easily shows that it is not in line with YaH and the Turah (Scripture). See our page on What's Wrong with the New Testament. Very quickly then, it is seen that the Qur'an is altogether unlike the Turah (Scripture). The Qur'an does not know the Name of the Most High, does not observe His appointed times/calendar/feast days and does not envision the future of YaH reigning over His people, keeping His oath to L'wi (Levi) and restoring all things to Turah (Scripture). Muslims go to Mecca, not to the Mountain of YaH in Saudi Arabia which is blackened and where the Turah (Law) was given to His people, nor to mount Garazim (Gerazim). Instead, Muslims go to the Ka'aba, the big black box of Allah with the black menstrual stone inside. Apparently Muhammad saw Isa (Jesus) in a dream one night, placing his hands on the shoulders of those who walk around the Ka'aba, obviously in Muslim worship (Book #55, Hadith #649).[5]
The religion of "Allah" is supposedly based on the Turah (Scripture). There are references to M'shih (Moses), Abrahaym and others of the Turah (Scripture) in the Qur'an. So if Muhammad respected "the Book" which came before his book so much, then why don't Muslims read the Turah (Scripture) or follow its commandments such as the appointed times of Wa'y'qora (Lev.) 23? Why don't they know the Name of YaH? Why do they believe in the ascension and second coming of Isa (Jesus) and claim he is amongst the prophets?
As in the case of the rejection of the New Testament, people who knew YaH and worshiped Him alone and followed His Turah (Scripture) did not accept Muhammad. So he got mad, went on a killing spree and claimed that his stories about Scripture were correct, and that it was the scribes of the Turah (Scripture) who altered Scripture. As we know now, based on the Dead Sea Scrolls, this is simply falsehood. The writings of the Turah (Scripture) were meticulously maintained letter for letter throughout the centuries, long prior to Muhammad, Islam, the Qur'an and New Testament. Our point here is that the Qur'an constantly refers to texts belonging to the Turah (Scripture) and yet Muslims do not know it or read it. Muslims slaughter a lamb every year at Mecca, but they have no House of YaH nor priesthood. They have no idea where slaughterings originated in the garden of Aydan (Eden) or of its purpose in the oath YaH made with L'wi (Levi) forever, or in its symbolism of atonement and forgiveness. They believe in an afterlife that is granted on the basis of righteous deeds (Sura 7:40-44) and yet they never have assurance that they stand free and clear of guilt and transgressions or of everlasting life from YaH. Clearly, M'shih (Moses) knew about the scroll of life, indicating judgment and future (Sh'moot (Ex.) 32:32).
Islam pretends to respect "people of the Book," which are those who have the Turah (Scripture) either in Aibreet (Hebrew) or as their "Old Testament" in Christian Bibles. While the Qur'an says that "people of the Book" should be respected, Muhammad waged war on them on more than one occasion unprovoked. It is no wonder then when we see his followers doing the same, when Islam follows the example of Muhammad and the Haddith. The Haddith is their own oral teachings from Muhammad similar to how the Jews have the oral teachings of the Talmud and Mishna. The Sira is the biography of Muhammad. With the Sira, Haddith and the Qur'an we have these three against the Turah (Scripture). It is these three combined which form the Islamic movement. Most people are unaware of this, and as a result they do not understand Islam, nor are they able to discuss it well with those who go only by the Qur'an. And if it is taken literally, it indeed preaches war and violence against all who do not accept Muhammad and the Qur'an.
It wouldn't matter whether one reads the original Arabic or its English translation. The meaning of texts such as Sura al-Tawba are clearly visions of war against the heathen and "people of the Book" (the Scriptures). "But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful" (Sura al-Tawba, 009.005 = vs. 5).[6] "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" (Sura al-Tawba, 009.029 = vs. 29).[7] These are but a few of the quotations which naturally make Islam a religion of Allah seeking conversion at the point of sword or other use of force. Forced conversions are still taking place every day in Islamic countries. Not only Christians and Jews, but Buddhists, Hindus and others have suffered under the sword of Islam. They even kill their own if they are from different tribes and levels of observance of Islam. This is nothing that you can't find in the news.
While the Qur'an states that "No Compulsion is there in religion" (Sura 2:256), Muhammad was an aggressor. Muhammad made it compulsory to believe what he believed, and submission to him as prophet and Allah as their mighty one. "The Muslims were sending out armed parties to various territories, sometimes these were led by Muhammad .... these expeditions were well received in peace, and Muhammad's cause gained friends, if not military allies .... Muhammad continued to seek converts among Arab tribes, Christians, and Jews, and foreign leaders. .... The Jews of Khaybar to the north of Medina were relentless in their opposition to Muhammad, so he marched on the city to defeat it. The Jews who continued to live there had to give half of their produce each year to the Muslims" (World Religions, 394). Muhammad even killed his own people. After He destroyed the idols in the Ka'abah around the year 630 CE (Common Era), "he moved to crush two remaining tribes who opposed him, the Hawazin and the Thaquf" (ibid, 395). Muhammad taught that the "peoples of the Book are to be treated with more respect than pagans .... But Muhammad obviously changed in his relationship to Jews in Arabia when they opposed theocracy in Medina" (ibid, 406).
For now, Islam proclaims itself as a religion of peace. But in the future, most Muslims believe Isa (Jesus) will come again and slaughter those who do not accept Islam, for Isa (Jesus) is essentially Muslim. Our encouragement to others is that if they encounter Islam, show forth that the Qur'an does not bear the seal of the Name, nor know anything of the oath of L'wi (Levi), nor of His calendar festivals. And let us not support Islam in any way. That means that we do not buy products that are "halal," and trying not to buy products from Islamic countries or stores. It is our prayer that Muslims will repent of Islam and the Qur'an, and follow YaH and the Turah (Scripture). We know of several people personally who have been made that conversion. Praise YaH!
